Bedding in Good Condition

Homeless and battered women's shelters are in constant need of blankets, towels, and linen that are in decent, usable condition. Check your local phonebook or click here to find a dropoff near you.

Here are a few places that are specifically seeking blankets:

New Mexico, Albuquerque: Albuquerque Rescue Mission. Needs blankets and other warm weather apparel for their Winter Emergency Overflow Shelter.

Michigan: Red Cross locations throughout southeastern Michigan take new blankets throughout the winter season.

Bedding in Poor Condition

If your bedding materials are stained, ratty, or otherwise not up to human standards, an animal shelter might be a better choice. Since my castoffs are too crummy to pass on to fellow humans, that's what I do.

If you're in California, you can search here for a local shelter.

Here is a national list of ASPCA shelters.
