Frequent Flier Points

hangers

If you've got extra frequent flier points and don't want to redeem them for silly magazines you'll never read, consider donating them. Admittedly, the easiest way to unload them is to give them to whatever charity is attached to that airline's program. Personally, since I'm not a big fan of all those charities, I would recommend asking the charities you already support if they want them instead. For example, Rainforest Alliance will happily take your miles (as well as Amtrak tickets.) Why not contact one of your favorite non-profits to see if they could use them?
