Shoes

The
Nike Grind program collects old athletic shoes (not just Nikes) and
uses them to make basketball courts, tennis courts, and playgrounds.
They have a handy search tool to find a donation spot near you.
Bay Area, California: Good Soles collects gently used children's shoes at various dropoff points around the San Francisco area.
Boulder, Colorado: One World Running sends gently used athletic shoes to developing nations.
East Lansing, Michigan: Heart and Sole sends gently used shoes overseas to the needy.
Dress Shoes:
Check the suit page of this site if you have shoes that are in good shape and appropriate for job interviews.
Big pile o' miscellaneous shoes:
Try your local theater or school theater department. They will often
take shoes and clothes for use as costumes. I'll list them here:
